 Instructions Minimize

  • How to use the Blog? Each TMLP member can have their own blog. If you have not set one up yet, just click the "Create My Blog" button on the right side below. Fill out the settings screen - click here for instructions. Once your blog is setup you can add entires. Only you will be able to add entires to your blog and other TMLP members will not.
  • How to add entries? Use the "Add Blog Entry" button on the right below. All entires will become available on the TMLP site immediately.
  • What to write about? Well, pretty much anything that excites you - experiences, thoughts, ideas, etc. about speaking, life, the world, or anything else that you want to talk about! You can write one paragraph or 10 pages - it is entirely up to you.
  • Why blog? Writing interesting stuff and about various topics will promote our site and yourself as an author. Our site will rank higher in search engines and will engage more internet surfers in conversations with us as they post their comments after everyone's blog entries. In this day and age, conversations on the Internet are key both to your and the club's success. Happy blogging!

Fellow Toastmasters...here it is!  The brand new Toastmasters of Lincoln Park website that looks suspiciously the same as the previous one.  So what's actually new?  It's mostly behind the hood stuff that will ensure the site runs smoother, is easier to update, and that every part of it actually works.  Here's what to look for:

Blogs- They work!  You're reading one right now!  Something had gotten corrupted on the old site and users were no longer able to create blogs, add blog entries, or edit existing blogs.  I transferred the majority of blog entries over from the old site, so you can look to that for information and inspiration.  We're very happy to get this feature back, and hope you'll join in writing for our site.

Member Directory- It just looks a little different.  All the information is still there, and like before, it is members-only, not publicly accessible.  Please take a moment to ensure all your information is correct.  I may have made errors in copying information from the old site and/or it might just be outdated.  Remember to keep your profile information updated in the future...this is our main point of contact with you!

Photo Gallery- Still being worked on, but it will be Flash-based and will look quite a bit better.

Toastmaster Toolkit- I uploaded a new version of the Meeting Agenda, so it won't be quite as much work for the Toastmasters to update it.  I also uploaded audience evaluation forms for some speeches that were missing before.

Roles & Responsibilities- Uploaded new versions of the evaluation forms from the Competant Communication manual.

Speeches- I scanned and uploaded all 10 speech projects from the Competant Communication Manual.  Previously, we had just the first two.

Finally, the Remember Login option for your user name & password now works.

If you have any problems, find any errors, or have any files/documents that you think would be useful to include on the site, please let me know.
