  • How to use the Blog? Each TMLP member can have their own blog. If you have not set one up yet, just click the "Create My Blog" button on the right side below. Fill out the settings screen - click here for instructions. Once your blog is setup you can add entires. Only you will be able to add entires to your blog and other TMLP members will not. 
  • How to add entries? Use the "Add Blog Entry" button on the right below. All entires will become available on the TMLP site immediately.
  • What to write about? Well, pretty much anything that excites you - experiences, thoughts, ideas, etc. about speaking, life, the world, or anything else that you want to talk about! You can write one paragraph or 10 pages - it is entirely up to you.
  • Why blog? Writing interesting stuff and about various topics will promote our site and yourself as an author. Our site will rank higher in search engines and will engage more internet surfers in conversations with us as they post their comments after everyone's blog entries. In this day and age, conversations on the Internet are key both to your and the club's success. Happy blogging!

Do you have gum?

We have a brand new case of gum and we're ready to hear more great first speeches. The Toastmasters of Lincoln Park tradition is to present you with your very own pack of Ice Breakers gum after you give your Ice Breaker speech (a.k.a. first speech). 

Several members enjoyed their gum ceremony at the conclusion of our meeting last night.  The ceremony included pictures and handshakes and everything! (Very official.) Some recipients opened their gum right on the spot and enjoyed the minty freshness as they walked to Matilda's for drinks after the meeting.  Some even shared their gum with other members.  I had a piece and it was great!

If you haven't given your Ice Breaker speech yet, hurry while the gum is still fresh!
