 Instructions Minimize

  • How to use the Blog? Each TMLP member can have their own blog. If you have not set one up yet, just click the "Create My Blog" button on the right side below. Fill out the settings screen - click here for instructions. Once your blog is setup you can add entires. Only you will be able to add entires to your blog and other TMLP members will not.
  • How to add entries? Use the "Add Blog Entry" button on the right below. All entires will become available on the TMLP site immediately.
  • What to write about? Well, pretty much anything that excites you - experiences, thoughts, ideas, etc. about speaking, life, the world, or anything else that you want to talk about! You can write one paragraph or 10 pages - it is entirely up to you.
  • Why blog? Writing interesting stuff and about various topics will promote our site and yourself as an author. Our site will rank higher in search engines and will engage more internet surfers in conversations with us as they post their comments after everyone's blog entries. In this day and age, conversations on the Internet are key both to your and the club's success. Happy blogging!

I attended a networking session today that gave me an idea for our next Table Topics.

Our next Table Topics will give you chance to practice what you should know by now anyway – your 2-minute pitch! It’s alarming to see in our professional world just how few people are truly able to deliver a concise message in only 2 minutes.

Come ready to volunteer or be called on. You will have exactly 2 minutes to tell the group:
1. Your name
2. What you do or are looking for
3. What makes you unique
4. An ideal referral for you

Practice your professional presentation or choose something fun – such as an ideal set-up if you are single, the type of animal you are looking for if you are in search of a new rescue pet, the kind of food you like and the perfect restaurant recommendation for you, etc. Have some fun but be concise!

Remember - when seconds count you don’t have time for filler words. Our Ah/Um Counter and Timer will be ready!

Good luck!
